Ethnic Britain was launched in 2002. Our aim was to raise awareness of key diversity
issues in areas such as housing, education, employment
and sport and to promote opportunities to the Ethnic Minority
community. In October 2007, due to the formation of the
Equality and Human Rights Commission we changed our
name to Equality Britain covering all aspects of equality:
- Age
- Disability
- Gender
- Race
- Religion and Belief
- Sexual Orientation
- Transgender Status
"The Equalities Review, published on 20 February 2007, acknowledged that
Britain now has more advanced equality legislation than most other countries.
Yet despite progress, the employment rate gap between ethnic minorities and the UK workforce as a whole still stands at around 15%. This is one of the imbalances
we are dedicated to resolving."

Equality Britain's main aim is to continue to provide practical and efficient media tools enabling employers and service providers to send a positive message to all sections of the community.
