Researcher, Protistan Biodiversity - Natural History Museum
Zoology is the largest and most diverse of the Natural History Museum’s (NHM) scientific departments and holds an estimated 27.5 million animal specimens in the national collection. The Zoology Department has over 100 staff in 9 divisions, each consisting of teams which carry out curation and research on the collections as well as dealing with a large number of scientific visitors from around the world.

Researcher in Protistan Biodiversity will join the Zoology Department in the Microbiology and Biometrics section and report directly to the Keeper of Zoology. The post holder will carry out research on the systematics, phylogeny and/or biodiversity of protistans’ (unicellular eukaryotes) and other related eukaryotes (e.g. fungi), in line with the Museum’s Research Strategy as described in the Research Framework.
